Information and Network Security

Virtual Halo takes active measures to safeguard your information and prevent loss, misuse, unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. All information we collect via the Virtual Halo app or website is encrypted over HTTPS, the same security protocol used by banks, and is stored in a controlled environment with limited access only to authorized Virtual Halo affiliates. While we take all reasonable efforts to protect your personal information, we are not liable for information breach resulting from limitations to the security of our systems; no information security system is absolutely immune to breach and we assume no liability in the event of such breach.

Virtual Halo services are accessible through the use of a valid telephone number and password. You may also elect to use a check-in password and/or duress code during your interaction with Virtual Halo. To protect the confidentiality of personal information, you must keep your password and any elected codes confidential. Please notify us immediately if you detect suspected misuse of your account. We will never ask you to disclose your password in an unsolicited phone call, email or other form of communication.

How Your Information is Shared

Virtual Halo will not give, sell, rent, share, or trade any of your personal information or any data that you store using our services to any third party except as outlined in this Privacy Policy or with your consent. How Your Information is Stored

Information entered into the application, either via the app, website, SMS, or other means, may be stored on our restricted database servers.

Personal Information You Give Us

When you sign up as a user on our app or on www.virtualhalo.com, we require you to provide us with your name, image, email address and phone number. Virtual Halo may store this information as well as other personal information you provide, such as the phone numbers of your emergency contacts.

Information Automatically Collected When You Use VIRTUAL HALO

We may collect information related to the actions taken while using or interacting with Virtual Halo services such as adding designated contacts, initiating or ending a trip, and information or communications occurring while a trip is in progress. In common with other websites, when you use Virtual Halo, we may automatically collect information from your app, browser or mobile platform including your mobile device type, operating system, browser type, location, IP address, referring web sites as well as your access time and pages visited.

Virtual Halo may use cookies in order to remember visitor preferences, improve usability, and track return visits. A cookie is a small piece of data which is sent to your browser from a web site’s computers and stored on your computer’s file system. You may configure your browser to reject cookies, though some portions of Virtual Halo services may not function properly without them.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

Virtual Halo, LLC reserves the right to change this Privacy Policy at any time. Virtual Halo will give you notice of such changes by posting the revised Privacy Policy at http://www.virtualhalo.com/privacypolicy. It is your responsibility to ensure that you are aware of the current Virtual Halo Privacy Policy when you use Virtual Halo services. Consent to the Virtual Halo services and revised services is given by continuing to use Virtual Halo services.
